CIT Mission, Vision, and Values

 

Mission

The Computer and Information Technology Department (CIT) shares in the missions of Miami University, of the School of Engineering and Applied Science, and of our regional campuses in Hamilton and Middletown. The department focuses on meeting the information technology education needs of Hamilton, Middletown, and surrounding communities by offering high quality, technically relevant courses and programs in information technology. We are committed to teaching, learning, and scholarship that is interactive and innovative and in which our faculty, staff, and students realize their full potential. We are dedicated to providing a technical education integrated with Miami University's traditional strength in liberal education.


Vision

The Computer and Information Technology Department will be recognized as the premier computing and information technology program by both students and employers in Southwest Ohio. The CIT department will be known for its leadership and commitment to delivering high-quality, industry-responsive, technically relevant courses that will prepare students for lifelong learning.
