Careers
Students who major in Computer and Information Technology will follow a technically intense program that prepares them for positions in the computing field as programmers, network administrators, computer support personnel and other similar jobs.
In the last couple of weeks, there has been a change in the administrative structure of the Co-op/Internship and Placement Offices on the Miami University Hamilton, Ohio and Miami University Middletown, Ohio campuses. These offices are now combined as one Regional Department. If you need help with the job search process regarding internships, co-ops, or placement, please go to www.ham.muohio.edu/jobs (This is a temporary website until the new Co-op/Internship and Placement web site is developed and housed on the Regional server).
At the Welcome page of the web site, you will find links to Registration, Jobs, Co-op or Internship Work/Learning Forms, and many other job search resources such as a Job listserv, interviewing video, etc. Once you have registered with the office, you will be contacted by Linda Vogt (program assistant on the Hamilton Campus) or by Shelley Cassady to set up an appointment to go over your specific needs and qualifications. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to give the Department staff a call at 785-3113 at Hamilton (Linda Vogt, 122 Rentschler Hall) or 727-3271 at Middletown (Debbie Smith, 109 Johnston Hall).

Advising
Do you know who your academic advisor is? Have you met with your advisor lately? It is extremely important to talk with your advisor to make sure you are taking the appropriate courses, taking them in the appropriate order, have all necessary pre-requisites, and are making progress towards your degree. We can also help with career questions getting connected with co-op opportunities. Please do not be shy about contacting one of us. If you do not connect with your assigned advisor, select another CIT/CSA faculty member and ask him or her to be your advisor.
