The keynote presentation was delivered by David Haddad. David Haddad served Loyola College in Maryland as Vice President for Academic Affairs beginning in 1999, after serving as Dean of the school of Applied Science and Engineering and Professor of Systems Analysis at Miami University. He received his baccalaureate from Wheeling Jesuit University and his doctorate from Purdue University in Mathematics. He was a product manager and group leader in Information Systems Development at Union Carbide Corporation. He held faculty positions at Purdue University, West Virginia University, and Wist Virginia College of Graduate Studies. He is recently retired and is a volunteer at the New Cristo Rey Jesuit Hight School in Baltimore. Dr. Haddad talked about his experiences with tutoring students who are materially poor. He presented a brief overview and different dimensions of generational poverty and how Miami students and alumni can make a difference in the life of a youngster through tutoring.
The keynote was followed by sessions in Career Development, Real World Case Studies, Emerging Technologies, Entrepreneurship, Lab Sessions and a Networking Session and Career Fair. Please follow the links above for more information.
