Scholarships and Awards

 

The Department of Computer Science and Systems Analysis provides several scholarships that are given to first year students who have declared Computer Science and Systems Analysis as their major. These scholarships are based upon scholastic performance. Applicants to Miami who have declared Systems Analysis as their major are automatically considered for these scholarships. Students will be notified by the Scholarship Office if they have been awarded one of these scholarships in April/May. The following are the scholarships given in the Systems Analysis department: Proctor and Gamble (P&G) Scholarship (Freshman) - This is a gift of Proctor and Gamble. Fred C. & Sandra Sandquist Systems Analysis Scholarship (Freshman) - This is a gift of Fred Sandquist, Miami 1966.Ronald & Mary Ann Kral Scholarship (Freshman) - This is a gift of Ronald and Mary Ann Kral, Miami 1972. The following are awards/scholarships that are nominated/voted on by faculty and students in the Computer Science and Systems Analysis department.

  • Avery-Dennison
  • Darrel & Wilma Grothen
  • Crowe Chizk and Company
  • Lawrence J. Prince Memorial Scholarship (Outstanding Junior) - chosen by the faculty. Association for Computing Machinery (ACM)
  • Outstanding Senior Systems Award - nominated by the faculty, chosen by ACM members.
  • Systems Analysis Outstanding Master's Thesis Award - chosen by the faculty.

 

Awards Outside of Miami University

  • Ciber EAS Each year CIBER (Enterprise Association Solutions) grants several $1000 scholarships to college students across the country. These scholarships reward students for their scholastic achievements and help to expose them to the field of systems integration and business systems consulting.
  • Software Architects: Software Architects, Inc. recognizes and awards students demonstrating values of Spirt of Quality, Team work, Your involvement, Learning and Exceptional attitude through their S.T.Y.L.E. Award which is a $1,000 tuition credit.
