Employment Opportunities

Job prospects for computer systems analysts are outstanding, according to employment projection studies. There is a great demand by business and industry for professionals with training in mathematics and computer science, and this demand is likely to increase. The Bureau of Labor Statistics and the American Association of Engineering Societies project excellent employment opportunities for the future. Miami University graduates in systems analysis have been very successful at finding jobs: more than 90 percent have job offers upon graduation. Over 100 corporations recruit systems analysis students each year. Some employers of recent graduates include:

 

Every year the Computer Science & Systems Analysis Department sponsors an "Employers' Fair" on the second or third Wednesday of October. This fair provides Computer Science and Systems Analysis majors and minors with the opportunity to become acquainted with a variety of companies for whom they eventually may work and provides employers (especially those that are less familiar to the students) with the opportunity to become recognized by our students. This year 28 companies were represented at the fair and over 200 students attended.
