Message from the Chair of the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department,
Dr. Donald R. Ucci
Dear ECE Students, Alumni, and Friends,
The ECE Department in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Miami University was created in the Fall of 2004 at which time it began offering courses for its programs in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. Both programs are ABET accredited. Since its inaugural year, the department has grown adding faculty and students with interests in a variety of sub-disciplines within the electrical and computer engineering fields. The department is housed in a new facility that boasts state-of-the-art teaching and research laboratories and world class faculty working at the cutting edge of technology. The department plans to increase ECE enrollment and enhance external research funding within the next few years.
The ECE Department is currently represented by the following research and education groups:
- Computers and Digital Systems - Computer Networking and Sensor Networks, High-Speed Digital Systems Design
- Signal Processing - GPS Systems, Radar, Signal Integrity, Biomedical, and Acoustics
- Communication Engineering - Wireless Technology, Spread Spectrum Systems, Optical Systems, Ultra-Wideband Technology, Ionosphere Modeling, Radar Systems
- Electronics - CMOS Integrated Circuits, Analog and Digital Circuitry, Electromagnetics
