Position Announcements
The School of Engineering and Applied Science of Miami University invites applications for two tenure track positions in computer engineering beginning in the fall semester of 2009. Miami's ECE department is housed in a new state-of-the-art facility dedicated in 2007. The positions require a Ph.D. in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field. Those candidates in the final stages of study who have not yet defended their dissertation are welcome to apply with completion expected by date of appointment. Successful candidates are expected to show potential of being an outstanding researcher and effective educator. We are primarily seeking applicants to begin at the rank of assistant professor. To be appointed to the rank of associate professor, the successful candidate must have an established record of scholarship/research and teaching.
Duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses, maintaining an active research program, developing curriculum enhancements, initiating and maintaining an active scholarship program, supervising undergraduate and graduate student projects and research, and participation in departmental and professional service activities. Successful applicants are expected to support teaching and perform research primarily in the areas of computer engineering including hardware-software co-design/FPGA, computer architecture, and embedded systems.
