National BUV Competition

The Engineering Technology Department is delighted to report to you that our three person Mechanical Engineering Technology senior design team (Matt Farley, Dan Kay and Greg Ellison) finished third in the National BUV Competition on April 19, 2008 in Indianapolis, IN.  Their three wheeled vehicle was an excellent design but had a torque dampener fail in the next to the last event.  They were not able to compete in the last event but still finished third.  Some of the competing Universities included: Alfred State (winners), Purdue University (second), Rose-Hulman , University of Dayton,  University of Cincinnati, Milwaukee School of Engineering, and John Brown University.  The students received a large trophy, Indy 500 qualifying tickets, medals, hats, jackets and a lot of pride.  The weather was cloudy, sunny, warm, rainy and sunny again with plenty of mud to go around.  We, in the Engineering Technology Department, are very proud of our students.  Please join us in congratulating Matt, Dan and Greg for a job well done.
