Research Interests - cover three distinctive areas
- In engineering, it is related to computer integrated manufacturing systems, which deal with a wide variety of disciplines and topical areas, such as computer control of manufacturing systems, design and integration strategies, and production planning and control.
- In teaching, it focuses on classroom pedagogy, student learning and assessment, learning technologies and lab design, teamwork, and professional ethics.
- In history of technology and the impact of engineering on society and vice versa, especially in Egypt. At present, he is working on the renaissance of modern Egypt, especially in the period between 1798 to 1882, when the locomotive was first introduced to Egypt, and Africa, and triggered the industrial revolution there, almost a hundred years after Europe and the US.
