LPN Track in Associate Degree Nursing Program
This track through the Associate Degree in Nursing Program recognizes prior leaning of the Licensed Practical Nurse. Upon completing prerequisite courses, the LPN can complete the Associate Degree in Applied Science in Nursing in 12 months. There are three areas within this program, and each area must be successfully completed in order to move to the next area. They are:

- Courses may not be repeated. A grade of "C" or higher required in all courses.
1. Prerequisite Requirements
(Completion of the following courses with a minimum of “C”, and minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5)
- ZOO 171 Human Anatomy and Physiology
- ZOO 172 Human Anatomy and Physiology
- CHM 131 Chemistry of Life Processes or MBI 161 Elementary Medical Microbiology (both courses are required for completion of ADN)
- PSY 111 Introduction to Psychology
- Submission of official transcript from a practical nursing program
- Proof of a current, unencumbered Ohio LPN license
- Application to the LPN Track in AD Nursing Program. Applications are available in the Nursing office from October 1st through December 15th only.
Please note that the number admitted to this program is limited. The Department of Nursing believes that the diversity of the student body enhances the quality of education students receive. Admission to the ADN program is selective and competitive. Applicants with the best overall qualifications will be offered admission. Potential for admission increases with higher grade point average, higher achievement in science courses, and higher number of science courses successfully completed.

State Board Licensure
All students who wish to sit for the NCLEX-RN examination in the State of Ohio will be required to submit their fingerprints to the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCCII) for the purposes of a criminal background check. This will be required in the second year of the nursing program. The Ohio Board of Nursing has the right to deny any individual who has a felony conviction on his/her record the opportunity to sit for the NCLEX-RN. The applicant will be asked to sign an information sheet indicating that he/she is aware of this state board requirement. This sheet will be maintained in the student's file.
