What is Engineering Management?
- This major integrates the fundamentals of science and engineering with the managment and business disciplines. A successful graduate of this program acquires the skills necessary to manage resources and solve problems of technical as well as non-technical nature.
- The graduates of the program advance from initial techical prosition in an industrial setting to the one involving supervisory assignment in production, fincance, engineering consulting and design, and technical sales and marketing.
- Graduates of this program spend about a semester taking classes offered by Miami's School of Business. In addition, this program contains basic science, general engineering, paper science and environmental engineering, and liberal arts components. The paper science technical specialty emphasizes chemistry, chemical engineering, and paper engineering. The environmental engineering technical specialty concentrates on understanding basic engineering and cost effective soltuions to pollution problems and pollution prevention.
