Chemical Engineering Major
Chemical Engineering
Within the chemical engineering curriculum, students choose among various areas of concentrations by judicious selection of required and elective courses. Areas of concentration include Biochemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Paper Science and Engineering. The curriculum is designed to prepare students in the areas related to process engineering, production, and research and development. A partial list of examples of industries that employ chemical engineers are biotechnology and biomedicine, electronics, food processing, environmental protection, paper, petroleum refining, and synthetic fibers. Students who choose Paper Engineering as their area of study are eligible to receive scholarships from the Paper Science and Engineering Foundation.
