Electrical & Computer Engineering
Welcome to the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Dr. Chiou S. Chen, Chair of the department and faculty are pleased that you are considering the possibility of pursuing a degree in our department. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to providing a strong broad-based liberal and technical education in a student-centric learning environment.
The programs we offer include:
Computer Engineering Major - Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a major in Computer Engineering.
Electrical Engineering Major - Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a major in Electrical Engineering.
Double Major - EE and CE double majors must have a total of 18 elective credit hours and cannot use a required course in one major as an elective for the other major.
Minors for other majors at Miami:
All of our programs benefit from Miami University's strong emphasis on a well-rounded education. Miami is well known for its focus on the student and its beautiful campus.
Our computing facilities include a high bandwidth campus-wide network. All residence halls, classrooms, and offices have network access. Our building and the library are equipped for wireless network access.
Our faculty are active in research as well as teaching. Current areas of research include artificial intelligence, robotics, signal processing, software radio, and wireless communication. One of our current projects is a radar research project with the Air Force.
