The project consists of new construction and renovation of an existing building (Benton). The structures will be joined together with connecting bridges to eventually house the entire School of Engineering and Applied Science under one roof.

The new construction is divided into an east (A) and west (B) side.

The west side will house the departments of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (ground floor) and Electrical and Computer Engineering (second floor). Paper and Chemical Engineering will be located on the ground floor of the east side. Classrooms and laboratory space will occupy the first floor.

The Dean's office will be on the first floor of the renovated Benton, and Computer Science and Systems Analysis will reside on the second floor of Benton.
