Project Scope
The scope of this project is to design and build a facility to house the School of Engineering and Applied Science. The facility will consist of new construction of an academic building which will be connected to an existing building (Benton Hall- currently housing the Psychology department), which will be renovated and the construction of an underground parking garage. The construction site is on High Street.
The project will be conducted in two phases.
Phase 1 consists of the construction of the new academic building and the parking garage. The west side of the new building should be ready for classes starting the Fall of 2006, with the east side of the building coming on line in time for classes in Spring of 2007.
Phase 2 consists of the renovation of Benton Hall. This phase will begin with the completion of the new psychology building (anticipated Summer 2006). The renovation will connect Benton to the new construction and should be ready for classes starting Spring of 2008.
When the project is completed, the new SEAS facility will anchor an academic quad.
